from a howling wind comes a stinging snow---

today it is craptastic weather!! I hope S&S are safe out there plowing.

today while getting things prepared for cinnamon rolls i noticed my mushrooms going stale so i tossed them on a jelly roll sheet put them in the oven to dry out and started making a gravy.
to make a gravy start out with equal amounts of butter and flour- melt your butter, then put in flour until you have a nice paste. add some of your dry seasonings at this point for flavor (always layer your spices & herbs while cooking) then add your broth, a little at a time, stir while cooking to keep the lumps out--taste-add spices-broth-stir repeat this until you have your gravy to your taste. I do not add ANY salt if I am using bouillon cubes due to HIGH amount of salt in them. I also love to add sherry. It gives gravy an extra depth of flavor. What is nice about making your own is you control how thick or thin you want it and it does not take much time at all.

off i go to make something else today. i anyone is hungry you know where i live.
